Simplify

A simple life has a different meaning and value for every person. For some, it means eliminating all but the essential, eschewing chaos for peace, and spending time doing what’s important to them. For others, it may mean getting rid of many of the things you do so you can spend time with people you love and do the things you love.

While you may be motivated to simplify your life, keep in mind that the road to simplicity isn’t always simple. There is no step-by-step guide to simplifying your life, but we’ve compiled an incomplete list of ideas that may help you get started. Use this list as a launch pad to brainstorm your own list that fits your specific life.

-Evaluate your commitments. Look at everything you’ve got going on in your life. Think about which of these really give you value.

-Live frugally. Living frugally means buying less, wanting less, and leaving less of a footprint on the earth. It’s directly related to simplicity.

-Limit your communications. Put a limit on your communications. Only do email at certain times of the day for a certain number of minutes. Limit phone calls to certain times of the day for specific durations of time.

-Simplify your goals. Instead of having half a dozen goals or more, simplify it to one goal. Not only will this make you less stressed, it will make you more successful.

-Live life more deliberately.

-Spend time alone. Alone time is good for you. It could take practice getting used to the quiet, and making room for your inner voice.

-Simplify your budget. Many people skip budgeting because it’s too hard or too complicated.
